Emma (12) Schoolgirl

Here you can listen to Emma's story - how she experiences having a hearing loss and how hearing aids have improved her quality of life.
Being hearing impaired is really like not having any ears. Imagine that there is no one talking. It is just quiet and you do not follow the conversations between your friends, so you cannot join in.

My hearing aids enable me to hear what is going on around me.

It means that I can do all the things I want to do in my spare time and at school. It is great because I like being active and I participate in all sorts of exciting things. I do not really want to miss out on anything.
