FM systems

FM systems work in the way that the speaker – for example a lecturer – speaks into a special microphone, which then transmits the signal wirelessly to a receiver attached to the hearing aid.
Some receivers are connected with a cord to an audio shoe mounted on the hearing aid; others are attached directly to the hearing aid without the use of a cord.

The advantage of an FM system is that it is wireless. With the system, the negative effects of background noise and poor acoustics are virtually eliminated.

An FM system can be very useful in difficult listening situations, for example in classrooms, as well as at home and in connection with leisure and recreational activities.

SCOLA FM is the FM system recommended for use with Widex hearing aids.
